About Diversity Inclusion

Each individual in an organisation brings with them a diverse set of perspectives, work and life experiences and religious and cultural differences. 

These differences can bring many benefits to an organisation and can help make it and the industry in which it operates successful.

At AREF we recognise that there is appetite for the real estate industry for doing things better in this area. 

- What are we doing to help?

The Association wants to support our members to help create a more diverse and inclusive industry, at all levels.   We are very passionate about this important subject and it is one of our current strategic priorities. 

Below you can find some information on how we are working towards supporting our members with diversity and inclusion (D&I): 

- The AREF D&I Taskforce

We had a tremendous response to our call for volunteers to help set up a D&I group, with over 50 people volunteering in the Summer of 2021, we then went on to set up the D&I Taskforce.

The Taskforce is made up of all the volunteers and is led by three Interim Chair’s:  Anne Breen of Abrdn; Andrew Grigson of PGIM and Sophie Reguengo of Ogier (click here to read their biographies).  The Taskforce has a central Focus Group who set the objectives/workstreams for the Taskforce. 

Each of the Interim Chair's now lead a working group, focusing on three key D&I workstreams.
